Top issues during term (4)(General)
New Transit Center at Civic Center site
Fully funded by state and local grants — no hit to local taxpayers — but a $7 million state grant must be spent by June 30, 2027.
Short Term Rental concerns
Staff estimated the permitting program would lose about $23,000 the first year; a ban could cost up to $37,000 in the first year for a vendor to track illegal listings, plus staff time.
business license revocation
The city may lose some license-fee revenue, while the three parlors lose income and their workers could lose paychecks—though the source doesn't give dollar amounts.
redistricting
